Found a whole new thing to do, a mixture of yoga & acrobatics! My friend, Jason, introduced us to this fun practice which combines a bit of yoga with Thai massage. It is playful, challenging, relaxing and COMMUNITY BUILDING — all at once! For more details about this practice, visit the acroyoga website.
Here with Jason supporting me, in Baddha Konasana! (Technically I think I’m in Adho Mukha Baddha Konasana, no??) These photos are taken by our personal Kula photographer extraordinaire, Ari Stiles! Take a look at her whole collection from that evening!
My mid-air “dismount” with Jason. My favorite part is Elaina’s completely bored expression, eating her apple in the background!

OMG! I went to the class at Bodhi the other night and it. was. awesome. I learned how to base and fly! so fun. Can’t wait to try it again.
I’ve been doing this for over ten years! It is acro-sage. An acrobatic, yoga, massage technique that was taught by Benjamen Marantz. I’ve done this for over ten years in my massage practice, at whole life expo in Portland Oregon(where it (I)was on “Good Morning Oregon”), and at Da Vince Days in Corvallis,Oregon. I’ve also taught this in my massage classes at my studio and at Linn Benton Community Collage.
I was surprised to see this as a ‘new’ yoga thing.
hmmmmm, interesting.
