There has been SO much going on in my life — both on & off the mat — and I have much that I want to write about but I’ve not carved out the time to do so. Several things have clicked for me recently & I’m excited to write more about my discoveries — from Immersion openings to insights I gleaned from Desiree’s workshop last weekend — but right now I am one pooped pup!
Today is Mother’s Day & I started the morning with a visit to Horseshoe Bay to see Mother & Daddy. I am so blessed to have the parents that I do. Drove back into Austin in time for 6 hours of Immersion (Part 8, day 2!) After celebrating my dear friend Jenn’s 50th birthday last night (until almost 1:00) and then getting up 4 hours later so that I could see Mom before the Immersion started, I was functioning on very low resources. Christina started the day with a couple of hours of philosophy & truthfully I was more ready to keel then “feel the zeal.”
See, here’s the deal … I do not easily grasp this stuff. Couple that with the fact that my pique time of the day for “intellectual functioning” is probably more in the 7-11 a.m. time frame and you have a recipe for a sleeping aid: “Philosophy + 1:00 p.m. = Serious Delta Brain Waves.” I am grateful Carlos is on DVD & I can revisit this again … perhaps another day … at 8:00 a.m. … with a cup of espresso. Asana practice — with lots of arm balances — arrived like a welcomed friend.
Came home to a fabulous dinner prepared by my oh so handsome husband: salmon, fresh mozzarella & tomatoes, rice, crab cakes & a lovely red wine. On top of that Austin moved home from the dorm today, so I was able to celebrate Mother’s Day with all 3 of our boys. It is nice to have my baby boy back in the nest.
So … to my Mom & Sazzy & ALL of my “mom” friends, I wish you a VERY HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY. AND … Very Happy Birthdays to Christina, Ari, & Anne, as well my very sweet friend, JENNIFER!!!! You all enrich my life so!
