YJ Entry #15 Friday, September 26th at 6:00 p.m. ~ Estes Park
Albert Schweitzer once said, “In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.” John Friend does this for so many people. Sally Kempton said, “John makes us love each other more when we’re around him.” At the Opening Remarks for the Grand Gathering, John was introduced by his assistant Kelly. She said, “There’s never been a more appropriately named yogi.” And so it seems.
I am hoping to have the opportunity to meet him. After the panel discussion this afternoon I was walking behind him as I left the auditorium and very easily could have, but I just didn’t want to bother him. I look forward to the honor, perhaps when he comes to Austin in November. (I just got my “acceptance” email, so that’s a go!) So, while I may have not yet had the privilege, my friends have seized the moment!

(And yes, Jesse was totally dripping with sweat!)
At the last large group practice of the Gathering, John actually made mention of my blog; he had READ it! (I have to tell you, no one needed to tell me to shine out from my heart at THAT moment!) Jill, Tabitha, Jesse, Kristen & Kim all celebrated with me as if it were their own which only magnified my joy.
I really appreciate the comments y’all are leaving ~ both from old friends and new ones who’ve connected with the blog. I haven’t been replying to each comment, but I do love to read them. There is SO much to post … lots more pictures, and things that y’all might find helpful, so hang in there with me as I try to get everything down.
Until then … keep breathing!
